Brown in Town

20 May

It’s a bit earlier then we thought it would be, but Domonic Brown is back in town.  Less then 24 hours after Ruben Amaro Jr. said “We don’t think he’s ready,” he called him up.

So what’s the thinking here?

Well, have you seen the Phillies offense lately?  Ruben Amaro and Charlie Manual had a short meeting before departing from Citizens Bank Park on Thursday night, and apparently Charlie was able to change Ruben’s mind.

My guess is that he’s here to stay.  I don’t think that they can continue to toy with Domonic, and disrupt his progression.  I think that we’re going to start seeing him play pretty regularly.  Even when Shane Victorino returns, I think that Brown will stay.

Brown has only played in 11 game so far this season with IronPigs, but in those games has played pretty well.  In Triple A Domonic was batting .341 (14 for 41) with two home runs and 10 RBI.  Brown recently missed five games after he sprained his finger diving for a ball in the outfield.

Look for Domonic to get the start on Saturday night.

The Phillies future is here. We might as well embrace it and accept it. I know that I am. 🙂
