Halladay is Ready

16 Oct
Roy Halladay is more then ready for this.  One could argue that he is having the best season of any pitcher in the modern era.  Cy Young numbers, a perfect game, and a no hitter in the playoffs?  If you think that the veteran is nervous about the playoffs, you’re wrong.

“I don’t look at it as pressure,” Halladay said. “I look at it as a
challenge, you know, something to look forward to. Getting to this
point, you put in so much work to get here that once you do it’s been
nothing but excitement.

“You don’t feel like there’s a certain standard to have to live up to. I
feel like I need to go out and pitch the way that I normally pitch,
execute pitches and be aggressive.”

Both Halladay and Lincecum like to work both sides of the plate, and along with their great command they are probably the two most effective pitchers in all of baseball.  To try and guess who has the edge has little to do with their talent.  If anyone does have the edge it’s Halladay, who will likely have a plan for each hitter in the lineup.

His last two outings have been nothing short of amazing.  A complete game shutout to take the Division, and his no hitter against the Reds.  I wouldn’t be shocked if he manages to find a way to roll it over.
