Shane Victorino has been recalled from the disabled list today and the Phillies have sent Antonio Bastardo back down to Triple A Lehigh Valley. Shane was expected to be recalled for this weekend, but after Ross Gload pulled his groin last night it seemed likely that the Phillies might have to make room for another bench player. Although Ross Gload is only listed as day-to-day we could sure use another bat so we don’t have to have Cole Hamels pinch hit again.
In his rehab stint with the IronPigs, Shane went 4-for-6 with a triple, home run and three RBIs.
The Braves are off tonight so let’s hope the Phillies can gain some ground!
