I
have to get something off my chest everybody; I didn’t watch the whole
game.  I had to turn it off.  I can’t remember the last time I did
that.  I’ve always given people crap who would say “it’s over”
before it really was because this is Phillies baseball, man.  Anything can
happen!

Last night I couldn’t even follow my own creed.

I
feel like every other entry I type I have hope that this team of ours is going
to turn it around.  One night we put up 10 and battle our way back and
then two nights later we let some team from Beantown rock us for 12 in just
three innings.  What the hell is with all the inconsistency?  What
the hell is wrong with Chase Utley?  When is Charlie Manuel just going to
bench this entire team and use a little shock therapy?

I think that we can all agree that Jamie Moyer totally
sucked last night.  He wasn’t even close to hitting his spots.  His
pitches just held too much of the plate for him to be affective and Charlie had
to pull him after just 1 1/3, his shortest start in his 73 year career.
I’m sure that the people at Fenway enjoyed how dreadful he was.

It’s hard to gauge what the Phillies should do with
Jamie.  His record isn’t the greatest
(6-6) but he has some really good outings every now and then.  His last outing was another complete
game.  I know that there isn’t much time
left on his contract, and I don’t think that the Phillies will resign him, at
least not as a starter. I think that Jamie is a tremendous competitor.  He obliviously knows this game better then
most people.  He’s been at it long enough
that some of the rookies he’s faced this year weren’t alive when Jamie was a
rook.

I think that it’s almost time to move Jamie to the
Bullpen.  I just don’t think that Jamie
has it in him to compete against every team.
Jamie can be very good, yes.   But there are certain games and teams that he
just shouldn’t be pitching against.  Jamie
would be better positioned as a situational long man.  He did a fantastic job eating innings last
year in this same spot and Charlie would not have to let him go up against the
types of veteran teams that feast upon Jamie’s pitching.  I feel for Jamie, but Charlie and Ruben and
the gang need to make some decisions because this team of theirs is now in
third place.

Side Notes –

Jayson Werth – Jayson went 3 for 4 with a run scored which
is an improvement, although he did ground into a bases-loaded double play.

Hahaha, you’ll need to put another billboard over the monster to afford him.

    Hey Michael,
Jayson looks VERY comfortable playing at Fenway, don’t you think? If the Phillies don’t sign him, can we please have him???
A better games awaits. or maybe something like 12-10. Who knows.
    Cheers,
    Michael

I almost turned it off both Friday and Saturday, but I figured it would be an experiment to see if my head would actually explode at any point. I believe I came close, but luckily, I am still here ;o)
