Utley Returns – Bats Don’t

19 May

After two days off with an illness, Chase Utley returned to the lineup
tonight against the Cubs.  The announcement of that lineup card was
probably the most excitement the fans got tonight at the park.  Well,
that’s not entirely true.  Jamie Moyer pitched quite well, again.
Jamie went seven innings with 7K and 1 BB, keeping the Phillies in the
game. Jamie appeared to have command of all his pitches and was working
both sides of the plate.

Louisville hasn’t been doing much
talking the last two nights for the Phillies, but seriously, are you
worried?  There’s going to be a few adjustments made, but our starting
8 is finally back and fairly healthy.  The only statistic I found that
was interesting was that so far this season the Phils are 5-7 against
left handed starters.  That’s a very good argument for all you guys out
there looking for more reason to lobby for Jayson Werth. Being very
lefty heavy in our lineup has an effect on that record, sure, but still
wouldn’t be so concerned.  Hopefully they’ll blast the Cubs and Sox
this weekend.
