Retro Unis – Homer Parade

15 May

Jamie Moyer looked right at home in the powder blue retro throwbacks, stirrups and all.  Moyer scattered 5 hits (3 HR), with 3 SO, 3 BB facing 27 batters.  The bullpen backed him pitching 2 2/3 scoreless in relief.

Randy Wolf was the opposite.  The Phillies made their ex-brother pay with dingers from each Howard, Utley and Ibanez.  The Phils marked Wolf with 7 hits and 6 earned runs.  Wolf was all over the plate and couldn’t find command of much of his pitches over 5 innings.

Another combination of power and a Phillies pitchers keeping the team in the game.  This team of ours is banged up, that’s for sure.  Luckily this series and the next few to follow consists of mostly sub .500 teams, allowing our boys to mend. This afternoon Joe Blanton looks to finally put a win in front of his name as he opposes Chris Narveson (3-1).

  • Carlos Ruiz is likely to sit today again, but will be available off the bench.
  • Brad Lidge is going to throw before the game and could possibly be available today
